En-gauger!

Long time ago there was a blogger in blogspot named “blogee, the midnight blogger” who used to blog all unwanted personal stuffs and hurting his friend by revealing his personal stuffs too in the form of blog and was always satisfied with his own blog. Along with that he was seriously hunting for a job as he realized that blogging won’t create much revenue and have to work like any other human being to earn his bread. Atlast he got a job and he’s really happy with that. But later on he didn’t get much time to blog what he felt like. Atlast he decided to get back whenever he gets the time. And he’s back when he got his time. Read on guys and do comment what you feel like.

How much traffic you can expect in Thiruvananthapuram city on a working day? A lot! A lot in the sense A lot that makes your car cover half the distance with double the petrol it actually consume. And if it’s a Petrol version Suzuki Swift, I will tell you that you are bankrupt. I have seriously no idea how much money I had spent for fuel in my car.

It was on a day that my friend reached down Thiruvananthapuram and I got a call when I was in my office and it was him telling that his train will reach in half an hour. Somehow I managed to get out of my office and rushed to the railway station. In the fuel gauge I saw the needle lying down and kissing the ‘E’ mark. I realized that its time to loose some more money. As I was late I didn’t take a pit stop to refuel.

The train got delayed by 10 minutes and I was on time and sat there I had told him with an expression on my face that I have been waiting for an hour. He came and hugged me and I took his bag and headed towards the parking area. We took the car and headed to the next hotel to have our brunch! I realized that running out of fuel may lead to pathetic situations. The next petrol pump was Indian Oil pump just opposite to Secretariat where I usually fill fuel from.

When boy in the pump came to the window and asked “How much, Sir?” I said “Petrol, 150 please” and handed him the money. I saw a crooked smile on my friend’s face. I know what he’s about to say. He always made fun of me being a miser and this time also, I was expecting one comment. But he didn’t. The boy in the pump finished filling in 2 minutes and said “Ok, Sir”. I started the car and said to myself but in a loud voice “Shit, this needle still stays there itself. It’s not moving a bit”. My friend who waited till to explode his comment said “Buddy, if you really want to see this needle moving a little bit, you need to spend money or else holding your misery, try filling fuel for 100 bucks along with Viagra for 50 bucks, certainly it will move”. After a silence, we burst out laughing. But even now I’m thinking about that idea. Will it work??

Ton tana Ton!

Eclipsing his previous best score of 186 not out against New Zealand, Sachin Tendulkar, the God of Cricket scored a Double Ton (200 not out) against the mighty South Africans and helped India seal the series with 2-0 lead. Taking advantage of every right conditions to bat on, he need just 147 deliveries to score the double hundred. He reached his first ton in 90th ball he faced and that was his 46th ODI hundred. Really amazing!

The sad part is, I missed watching the action. But I manged to get the ball to ball by ball details from cricinfo. Later I got the links to watch the highlights. For those who missed the show, the link is here http://cricket-online.tv/south-africa-vs-india-2nd-odi-highlights-gwalior-2010/

Before you, a work in a Graphics Image Editor. Just an amateur work of what I thought to draw as cartoon! Hope you guys will enjoy!

Numero Uno in question!

Revealing the batting frailties, Team India crashed to humiliating innings and six runs defeat against South Africa in their First Test at Nagpur. Its the first defeat in its format under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
The significant knock in the Indian innings was Sachin Tendulkar's 46th Test Ton which merely delayed South African victory. Early in the first innings, it was Virendra Sehwag who did the contribution with a century knock. But both tons were in vain before the mammoth total of 558 highlighted by Hashim Amlas's double century (253*).
Will Team India loose their No:1 spot in Test Cricket?
Before you a cartoon from my toons point of view! Enjoy!

Congrats Winner!

"Resul Pookutty, the pride of India: Amitabh Bhachan", the head line of todays newspaper goes like this. Once again Resul Pookutty, the most acclaimed Academy Award winner for his work in Slumdog Millionaire was elected Malayala Manorama News Maker of the year 2009.

Hailing from Anchal near Kollam, Kerala the sound designer, editor and mixer won several awards and honors within this short span. His excellent sound design for Slumdog Millionaire brought him to the lime light. This break brought him recognition all over the world and most importantly all over India.

I'm copying down those lines I came across when I read more about him.
This is strong evidence that one will be repaid for all his sufferings and hard work while sticking on to ones passions. To keep on doing it without expecting great rewards, one has to be dedicated to his passion and strive for excellence. Do your best, and let God do the rest!!

Please read the following paragraph:

Resul admits that the sound design is a much-misunderstood and neglected art form in India. "Our industry is still quite ignorant about the use and quality of sound in cinema. After all these years I've received just one award, for Black. Even for that I didn't get the National Award. And I think my work in Feroz Gandhi's Gandhi My Father and Saawariya are far better than SM. I got no recognition for it at all. In India, we always look at the commercial success of a film before recognizing it. I feel frustrated when I put my heart and soul into a work and then it goes unappreciated. I just want to keep doing what I'm doing. SM doesn't change that. Santosh Sivan once told me to shoot the rising sun is the greatest joy in life. I want to savour that moment that Santosh talked to me about."

In a country like India where the film industry has a major role in the economy, movies are nowadays only measured by its commercial success. When a movie turns out to be a success, people praise the highly paid stars (I respect those talented personalities whose talent alone can win the match) and runs behind them. But everyone forgets the people involved in making that movie a great success. We never honor them for their talent and work. Resul's case isn't different. Although he had done several other great works than 'Slumdog Millionaire', he got recognised only for his work in the movie 'Black'.

This is where the Academy Award differs from the rest. It is the oldest award ceremony to recognize excellence of professionals in the film industry. Its the arena where pure talents and hard work are recognised and Resul Pookutty also got his name written in the pages of history as the "First Malayalee to win the Academy Award". Otherwise we would have been late or missed to find him among us. All the best Shri. Resul Pookutty and thanks for making every Indian feel proud!

Free tickets for a Publi-City Stunt!

Ignoring warnings from the right-wing Shiv Sena and MNS about statements related to Mumbai city and other parts of Maharastra, Congress General Secretary, Rahul Gandhi completed an eventful four-hour-long Mumbai visit. A publicity stunt between the sides or what?! Poli-tricks! From my toon point of view these are freak stunt shows!

Homage to the Hero!

One and only Mahatma. His philosophy and thoughts continue to attract people from all around the world after six decades have passed. Paying tribute to the "Father of the Nation"on his 62th death anniversary, am scribbling down some of his famous quotes.

"An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind."

"Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes."

"I believe in equality for everyone, except reporters and photographers."

"Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will."

"The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong."
